Getting to La Playa Spa Hotel

San Juan's Airport code is SJU and there are frequent flights from major airline hubs in the US and many Caribbean Islands. South America and Central America are served by Copa Airlines connections in Panama City, Panama. European flights connect to Iberia's non-stop flights from Madrid, Spain.
La Playa Spa Hotel is only a few minutes from San Juan's Aeropuerto International Luis Muñoz Marin.
Grab a Taxi
When you arrive in San Juan, follow the signs to the baggage claim/ground transportation area on the lower level of your terminal. While you're waiting for your luggage, you'll see several kiosks for ground transportation. These kiosks are staffed by employees of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company and they will give you a 'fixed price' taxi voucher for your short ride to La Playa Spa Hotel. Just tell them that you are going to 'Isla Verde', the number of people in your group and how many pieces of luggage you have with you. You'll receive a voucher 
that you'll take to the line at the curb and give to another representative of the Tourism Company. They will assign you a taxi. Give one copy of your receipt to the driver - this will tell him what the set fare is for your trip. Tell the driver you are going to Hotel La Playa. The ride should take a little more than 5 minutes and cost about $15-20.00 depending on time of day, fuel surcharge, number of passengers and luggage. Tips are not included in the fixed rate on your receipt, but are appreciated if the driver provides good service.
Rent a Car
Major car rental companies have couners near the baggage-claim areas in each terminal. Several other rental car companies are located a short distance from the airport, but will send a shuttle bus to pick you up at your terminal. Check with your car rental agency for details. All rental car lots are off-site in San Juan, so you'll have to take a short shuttle ride no matter what rental car company you choose.
Driving Instructions
From the airport and most rental car lots: Go past the entrance to the airport and look for the next exit that will say PR-187 E/Loíza/Piñones and follow the road that runs along the airport runway on the right and a Pueblo Supermarket on the left. At the traffic light, get in the left lanes for a left turn onto Isla Verde Avenue. The traffic light is directly in front of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and you should position yourself in the right-side lane (but you will actually turn left at the light). As soon as you turn left onto Isla Verde Avenue, you should exit onto the marginal road on your right. Follow this marginal road past Calle Dalia until you reach the corner with Platos Restaurant, Piu Bello and Coral by the Sea. Turn right on Calle Rosa and continue until you can see the water in front of you. Turn left at Calle Iris for one block and then left on Calle Amapola until you reach La Playa Spa Hotel. There is limited parking in front of the hotel. We also have a parking lot on Calle Rosa - near Calle Iris.
From San Juan: From PR-26 (Baldority de Castro Expressway) take exit 7 to merge onto Av Los Governadores/PR-187 E toward Loíza/Isla Verde/Piñones. Follow the exit that swings back over the expressway and runs along the airport runway on the right and a Pueblo Supermarket on the left. From Isla Verde Avenue Rental Car Companies: Take Isla Verde Avenue past the InterContinental Hotel and El San Juan Hotel until the traffic light and signs to return to Isla Verde Avenue. This will take you to the stop light in front of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel where you can follow the previous instruction.
There is limited parking in front of the hotel - plus additional parking one block away from the hotel.
